Ant Group seeks to boost foreign payment accessibility in China
The group plans to expand bilingual support, amongst other enhancements.
Ant Group and its Alipay+ partners have launched a program to build International Consumer Friendly Zones across major Chinese tourist and commercial cities.
The group will collaborate with 11 Alipay+ partners and major international card organisations to enhance the accessibility and convenience of using Alipay+ and international bank cards to pay in China.
Ant Group said that it will refine payment services in locations most frequented by travelers, including key transportation hubs as well as tourism attractions, hotels, and shopping districts.

It will also expand bilingual support, offer comprehensive user guides, and bolster merchant training.
Currently, Ant Group offers two mobile payment alternatives for overseas visitors in China: Alipay+, which enables overseas consumers to pay with their home e-wallets; and international bank cards, wherein travelers can bind their cards from Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club International to an Alipay app to pay using the app.
