Standard Chartered appoints Roel Louwhoff as chief of tech, operations, and transformation

He replaces current COO David Whiteing, who is moving back to Australia.

Standard Chartered has appointed Roel Louwhoff as chief technology, operations and transformation officer, effective 1 April.

Louwhoff joined the bank last 1 November 2021 as group chief digital, technology, and innovation officer.

This follows after current group chief operating officer, David Whiteing’s decision to leave the bank and relocate to Australia.

Bill Winters, group CEO, said that the bank decided to combine its operations and technology teams to reportedly enable Standard Chartered to move faster, harness synergies, and accelerate the delivery of our strategy and transformation across the bank.

“I have asked Roel to lead us in turbocharging this change, and we thank David for his leadership in establishing a strong foundation, from which we will now build,” Winters said, commenting on the appointment.
