PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance's groundbreaking achievements recognised at ABF Corporate & Investment Banking Awards

This highlights their pioneering efforts in sustainable finance and innovative deal-making.

PT Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF) has garnered significant recognition at the esteemed ABF Corporate & Investment Banking Awards, clinching the titles of Innovative Deal of the Year - Indonesia and Sustainability Bond of the Year - Indonesia. These accolades highlight IIF's pioneering efforts in sustainable finance and innovative deal-making within Indonesia's capital markets.

In a landmark achievement, IIF successfully issued the first-ever Perpetual Notes instrument through a public offering, known as the Indonesia Infrastructure Finance Green Perpetual Notes 2023. This instrument, valued at IDR 355.19 billion, marks a pioneering step as the first perpetual notes issuance in Indonesia with a Green perspective, aimed at professional investors. Officially listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on 10 January 2024, the Green Perpetual Notes underscore IIF's commitment to financing sustainable infrastructure projects.

The proceeds from the Green Perpetual Notes are dedicated to funding projects that align with the principles of Environmental Business Activities (Kegiatan Usaha Berbasis Lingkungan or KUBL), as outlined in the IIF Green Framework launched in October 2023. This thematic instrument, with the endorsement of OJK IKNB, is classified as equity/capital, thus bolstering IIF's capital base and enhancing its capital adequacy ratio. This strategic issuance strengthens IIF's ability to pursue its core mission of providing sustainable infrastructure financing across Indonesia.

The Green Perpetual Notes issuance represents a significant milestone, being the first to adhere to the regulations of POJK No. 11/2018, which govern the public offering of debt and/or sukuk securities to professional investors. Through this issuance, IIF not only reaffirms its commitment to environmental sustainability but also takes a proactive stance in financing projects with positive environmental impacts. This move solidifies IIF's reputation as a responsible and forward-thinking organisation, dedicated to advancing sustainability and contributing to a more environmentally conscious global landscape.

IIF's innovative approach extends beyond this milestone. The company was the first Infrastructure Finance Company to raise funding in Indonesia's capital market in 2016 through the issuance of local currency bonds. Furthermore, IIF was the first non-bank financial institution to issue a USD Global Sustainable Bond, which was listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 2021. These pioneering efforts reflect IIF's unwavering commitment to strengthening the financial industry, capital market, and the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

The accolades from the ABF Corporate & Investment Banking Awards underscore IIF's leadership in sustainable finance and innovative capital market transactions. By continuously pushing the boundaries of financial innovation and sustainability, IIF exemplifies its dedication to creating a brighter future for generations to come. These achievements position IIF as a trailblazer in the Indonesian financial landscape, reinforcing its role as a key player in advancing the nation's sustainable infrastructure development.

President Director & Chief Executive Officer IIF, Reynaldi Hermansjah said, This award is a motivation for IIF to continue to improve its performance and make a greater contribution to sustainable infrastructure development in Indonesia. We are committed to continue our innovation and creative financing solution in a sustainable way”.
