CDB named Asia’s safest emerging markets bank
Selected by Global Finance magazine.
China Development Bank topped Global Finance magazine’s “Safest Emerging Markets Banks in Asia” survey to be published in the magazine’s December issue. Agricultural Development Bank of China took second spot. The other safest emerging markets banks in Asia include Export-Import Bank of China, Industrial Bank of Korea, Korea Finance Corporation and Export-Import Bank of Korea. The banks were selected by comparing their long-term credit ratings and total assets of the largest banks. The survey also used ratings from Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s and Fitch. The full report covers the safest banks in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Global Finance said the ranking is an invaluable tool for companies to evaluate institutional strength in fast-growing emerging markets.
