Sumitomo Mitsui appoints former J.P Morgan banker as head of M&A advisory of SFDA

The newly created role sees Chirolli leading SMBC’s M&A advisory efforts in Asia.

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) has appointed Simone Chirolli as head of M&A Advisory of Structured Finance Department, Asia Pacific (SFDA).

Chirolli, who is based in Singapore, assumed the role last 19 April.
 
In this newly-created role, Chirolli is responsible for leading SMBC’s M&A advisory efforts in Asia in the energy and infrastructure sector covering renewables and digital infrastructure, among others.
 
He joins SMBC from J.P. Morgan, where he worked for 11 years. Most recently, he was the bank’s head of Infrastructure Investors Coverage for Asia (ex-Japan) and Executive Director in the Energy, Power, and Renewables team.
