Bangkok Bank enables remote account identity verification through Boonterm kiosks
Customers need only a smart Citizen ID card and their reference code from the app.
Bangkok Bank has partnered with the Forth Smart Service Public Company to offer 24-hour remote account opening service via Boonterm kiosks in Thailand.
Available at more than 2,000 Boonterm kiosks, the Be My ID identity verification service needs only a smart Citizen ID card and the 7-digit reference code from the Bangkok Bank mobile banking app to open a new e-Savings bank account.
Customers need simply to get a kiosk, choose the “identity verification” options, input the 7-digit reference code valid for 48 hours, and then insert their Citizen ID card.
Once complete, the screen will indicate the identity verification is successful, after which customers can log back into Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking to complete the account opening.
Until 30 April, customers who apply for the mobile banking app, open an e-Savings account and make two financial transactions within 7 days after opening the account will get a 100-baht Shopee discount code. Transactions covered include deposit, withdrawal, transfer, top-up or payment.
Apart from the 2,000 kiosks that accept identity verification, over 90,000 Boonterm kiosks have allowed Bangkok Bank customers to deposit cash.
