Taiwan banks' yuan deposits fall for 4th straight month

Deposits dropped to RMB308.3 billion in April.

The amount of RMB-denominated deposits at Taiwanese banks dropped for the fourth consecutive month in April, according to latest statistics from the Taiwanese central bank.

Yuan deposits held by Taiwanese lenders dropped to RMB308.34 billion in April, compared to RMB309.67 billion in March.

Remittances dropped to RMB137.25 billion, compared to RMB163.53 billion in March. Discounts and loans rose to RMB12.82 billion from RMB12.31 billion in the preceding month.
