Taiwan cards' revolving credit rise to NT$107.3b in March

There are over 37 million active credit cards on the island.

Taiwan’s balance of revolving credit from credit cards rose to NT$107.3b in March, according to data from the Financial Supervisory Commissions (FSC). This is higher than the NT$103.7b recorded in February.

The 32 credit card issuing institutions have collectively issued 58.91 million cards by end-March, of which 37.96 million are active.

Undue balance of installment was approximately NT$171.2b, lower than the NT$181.6b in February.

The average ratio of delinquency credit against account receivables rose slightly to 0.27%, from 0.25% in February.

In contrast, there was little chance in the amount of cash cards and its balances between March and February.

The total number of effective cash cards was 0.3 million in March, about equivalent to the number the previous month, the FSC said.

Total balance of cash card loans, meanwhile, fell slightly to NT$10.7b from NT$10.8b a month earlier.
